Claire and Connor are two of the coolest, stylish, and nicest people I have ever met. I met Claire in high school through my (now) husband, Robert and I’ve always looked up to her. When Claire asked me to create their wedding invitations I was one part really excited and one part super nervous – I really wanted to create something special! Luckily, she has amazing ideas and we collaborated to create beautiful wedding stationary.
Our amazing friend at Apostrophe Photography, M’Recia Seegmiller, took Claire’s engagement photos. They amazing! I highly recommend her for any of your photography needs.
If their wedding had a theme It would have been, “I love you to the moon and back.” That phrase inspired the photo booth they had at their reception and was incorporated into their wedding stationary as well. Other elements included: rich textures, florals, and mixture of retro typography. Her wedding colors were Midnight Blue, Gold, and a small hint of blush. We also designed every piece to be perfect little squares. Because squares are cool.
The first piece of their stationary was the general announcement. I went with a really deep midnight blue and used a splatter effect to create stars. We chose 4 different pictures for the back, with a limited print quality so that everyone got a different picture. I think this is a really fun way to make your announcement more personal for each person receiving it.
Next came the invitation to the ceremony. Claire & Connor preferred to keep their ceremony more private so they sent these out to a limited number of family members and close friends.
Claire wanted these to be more decorative then the general announcment so I incorporated a floral pattern. On the back was an invitation to the reception following the ceremony. In order to make the two sides stand on their own and be noticeable I opted for an inverted colored scheme with a white background on one side and a midnight blue background on the other side.
For RSVP cards I created these 3×3 cards. Claire included these in their own mini envelope, pre stamped. This is my favorite part of the whole collection – so cute and so classy.
For their out of town guests, we included 3×3 inserts with directions and information about where to stay! So smart & helpful!
The weekend following their wedding, Claire and Connor hosted a festival complete with a hand-built Photo Booth for extended family and friends. On the back of this invitation we opted for a fun typographical print with the theme of their wedding. I painted the moon and used the same texture for the banner element on front. Everyone who received this piece also recieved a general announcement with their engagement picture on the back, so the print was a fun way to make the invite extra special. I love this idea for anyone sending out multi-piece wedding stationary!
Well, thats all folks! I had so much fun working with Claire and designing these invites
